We've had a bit of "real world" life get in the way of keeping up online. Hopefully, things will continue to calm down a bit so we can increase our activity and classes. Let us know if you have something that you would be interested in learning more about or having a refresher course cover.
As far as pendling goes, nothing exciting to note on the elevator practice. I need to figure out what chance is on the activity.
I decided to try pendling cards for faster feedback (and feedback that can be received on weekends). I pendled the card colours, since that's a simple binary question and quickly verified. The first time, I had 3 out of 15 correct. This is statistically significant, just in the wrong direction. The second time I tried a larger group (25) and had 12 correct. That's pretty much exactly chance. Last night I pendled again, and had 7 out of 25 correct. This is again statistically significant in the wrong direction. For fun, I tried going through the stack and simply separating the cards into two piles (no immediate feedback). Out of 15 cards, 10 were supposed to be Red. However, only 5 were. The 5 'Black' cards were split 2 and 3, which was also chance.
I find the reverse chance with the colours interesting. I'm considering trying odd and even numbers next, partly to see if it is colours themselves that are confusing.

This is a good idea; could be really helpful. Trying to predict something so close to you in the future that happens to you every day in an uncontrollable way certainly seems like a good way to hone your accuracy in pendling. I don't actually practice this particular skill (best not to try and take on too much at once, especially with my schedule), but I wish you the best of luck with it.

On a side note: I honestly thought this site was almost completely dead since I joined. It's only by chance I happened to look in today and see the couple of updates. Is this site actually inactive or just very, very slow? Would like to see it more active if it is.

Ok idk where to post but i have a new psi move PSI BRICKS its simple and easy
1:Gather energy where you want your brick (a friends foot is a good spot)
2:make the energy solid and dense you can use your energy (prefered) or surrounding energy
3: Make a shell to hold it in place (wont last long) or harden all the energy placed on brick (very durable)
4: Ask wich foot feels heavy if its the foot with the brick you've got it

P.S if foot bricking place the brick around the foot like a shoe

Hey bro:)

There's as many ways as there are people on the planet to make 'em.

If you're an old school psi, then you you'd want to rely on the energy generated by your thoughts, which then flows along your nerves to the desired gathering spot IE The palm of your hand or above it.

You can also entertain animals with them(constructs). You can play around with animals and lead them around. You can even do it to people:)

You can also focus your attention on the spot about 2 inches below your belly button. This will help you to gather a different type of energy, but not psi. In my experience, it's more of a physical type of energy. It's the spot that roughly correlates with the second chakra, the spleen chakra.

When you focus your attention here, you gather a really dense type of energy.

First of all, you need an intent for the energy. If you have no intent for it, then it'll just evaporate into the surroundings.

Your intent acts like a shell for the psi ball, which is just a construct in the shape of a sphere or ball. It's basically a thoughtform in the form of a ball.

Use baseballs, snowballs, etc. Any ball shaped item that you can recall easily. It makes the ball more "real", as opposed to visualizing a glowing mass of ball shaped energy.

One thing that I find that it helps to visualize a real solid ball. Recall a ball that you've seen and can easily visualize. Most of the time, i make psiballs in the form of basketballs or bowling balls.

I wonder what i might use those for...:)

The heat and tingling you describe is actually your energy in your hands. Often times you cannot see your energy, you simply have to feel it. If what you say is true and you're trying so hard it's causing pain to your hands, I'm pretty sure you've got it down =)
Energy should be moved through your body in a way that you see fit. Find a way that works for you. Be patient, these things take time and practice. =)

Hello there,
That is really odd to me that UPC is offline. I will see what I can find out. It is possible that they simply had an issue with their domain name and registration. I know we had an issue with our domain name folks in the past that caused some confusion. Their site might be down for a similar reason.
We know other sites exist that discuss psionics and parapsychology. We aren't offended nor are you considered rude for your question. Each site has their place. Ours, as is known, is not one for folks of the fluffy persuasion. We like to consider scientific method and stats, and we like to use what works. We like studies, and we like practice. Not everyone fits in with us. If you do, great! Ask questions, make comments, and share ideas.
Regards,
Jael

Hello Fluffbunny,
Another suggestion is to change what you are doing slightly. I like the radiometer myself. Then I know for sure what I'm doing is actually PK and not some breeze because one of the kitties walked into the room. We have a link to them here.
Good luck. Remember that consistency in practice applies to psionics the same as anything else we learn to do.

Hello Apocalypse,
Thanks for your post. We are not as concerned as some regarding the number of posts on our forums. We like activity. However, activity should have purpose. You are correct that the purpose of the forum is to be able to ask questions and receive feedback. And by the way, this is a better place than the review queue to have a discussion.
This site is designed for folks who have an interest in learning about "psi" and learning about applying the use of "psi". We have used the term "psionics" to describe this for a variety of reasons. Valid and useful application of psionics does require scientific study of psi, which is why we have a library on our site as well. This is definitely a work in progress.
If you write or find information you think would be useful, you are welcome to submit a page for our review. After the PSC moderators review your submission, we will either contact you regarding questions or we will publish the page for other visitors to read. Please be certain you are respecting copyrights in your page.
We do value quality over quantity. This means that if you do not support your hypothesis or theory in your page, you will be asked to show support prior to having your idea published on the site. Using existing published works to support the concepts in your page is fine, long as the works are reputable in nature. While we are reputed to be harsh to fluffs, we are not harsh on folks trying to learn and understand. In fact, we welcome folks wanting to learn.
Thanks for the question,
Jael

Ok, my first post here, here goes ^^

One type of shield i've had some success with is Vampiric shielding..

Basically, about eight years ago it came to my attention that i had been unconsciously draining energy from people around me whenever i got tired. With practise and meditation i was able to stop leeching from people, and take control of it.

Now, maybe i just stink of evil to people because of the inherant greyness of being born a leech, and maybe some of them are just nasty pieces of work who like to pick on the little guy, and maybe it's just because i live in a densely populated city, but i seem to end up in psi-combat situations a lot. Recently i started to get very very tired from all of this.

Here's what i've done to get around it:

First, build the strongest shape shield you can imagine, i use a three-sided pyramid (four if you count the base), because triangles are one of the strongest shapes in architecture. Build it as hard as you can.

Program the shield to do the following:

1)on impact, eat the energy of the attack or negative influence, digest it (remove its coding and strip it back to raw psi, leaving anything that is unusable outside of the shield)
2)feed the energy to the person or object being protected, untill they are at their optimum energy level.
3)any excess energy goes into strengthening the shield
4)once the shield is "full", any excess energy is redirected to the earth. this is a failsafe encase someone tries to overload you.

additionally, try programming it so that if someone tries to drain your energy, the effect is reversed, and their efforts to deplete you have exactly the opposite effect

it took some fine-tuning, and admittedly i was drunk on psi for two days after my first shield of this type went up (with no detrimental effect on the people around me though, yay), but it seems to work quite effectively, and if anything it's gotten stronger with each attack.

i'll be interested to see how it does with the adaptive programming put forward by vlad and tinny added to its code, should make for a fun shield indeed

it's not the only type of shield i use but it's certainly got a spot on my psi "toolbelt" ^_^

Complexity and variation from typical shield programs is key to creating an effective shield in my experience.

A program that maintains itself and learns to vary its own design from incurred damage will continue its development without conscious effort.
This way, if your shielding takes damage in some way, it will not take as much if any the next time by the same method.

(There are a lot of limitations to this idea and is dependent on your ability to incorporate the learning program.)

Combat is one of the reasons to have shields. However, you are correct that the average person that is aware of psionics is not going around bopping folks they see with psiballs. That said, some psionists are attacking folks, and psiballs bouncing off of the innocent is one of the nicer things they do. Again, you are not 'likely' to run into someone like that, but it could happen, and I am aware of times it has happened to others. Having a shield ready to put up with a trigger is a good idea.
Other reasons do exist to have shields. For example, shields are helpful in cutting down input or output for 'paths. Whether this excess information is in thoughts or emotions, a good shield will reduce the noise level.

This could be just because I live in a sparsely populated area, but I can't see much use in a "walkabout" shield. Is it really all that common for some random person to launch psionic attacks onto you?

I suppose I'm probably biased, but the only shield I've ever really committed to maintaining is one that only appears when I need it. (It's essentially just programmed energy in a ring I have)

Maybe I'm just missing something though. Walkabout shields could be useful if you're in an area with a lot of agressive psions, I guess.

Jael,
Your comment that one can't practice by oneself may not be 100% correct... But it certainly comes close. One can "listen in" on animals and such... Just ask Kit about squirrels in the spring. But that's probalby mostly one way - and I guess it's not REALLY by yourslelf. It is without a consenting partner though.
That said... A consenting partner can be much more productive in practice in this (and many) areas.

Hello, Goldhawk.
I'm sorry it took me so long to reply to your question....
This might be better suited for the forum section. This is the type of question many others can learn from.
However, when you post there, you will receive better feedback if you break your question into sentences. Also, please explain what your goal is. Are you trying to move the psiwheel, stop the radiometer, practicing shielding, RV, or telepathy? Knowing what you are wanting to become better at will help folks help you.
Visualisation is often specific to an individual. For example, the way I visualise my shields is different from most other folks. However, the shield does still work. When we learn more about the specifics of how psionics works, we will understand why we can use different visualisation methods to reach the same goal.
Hopefully this is helpful,
Jael

Although I wouldn't recommend anything too complicated for a walkabout shield for several reasons (more room for error, more difficult to put back up if you suddenly find yourself unshielded in a mall), maybe it's a good idea to practice some more complex programs for special situations.

In combat situations, you might want to make a complex shield for defense to confuse an opponent. The more complex a shield is, the more the opponent must think to find a loophole in the programming to attack. Otherwise they'd just be bashing, which can take even longer.
Complexity in a combat shield could involve causing telepathic confusion while redirecting the attacker to China or something. Or creating more shielding from the energy put into their attacks. Sky's the limit, really. Point is, a complex combat shield gives an attacker more to think about, giving you more time to reinforce any cloaking functions or maybe to attack back if it's necessary.

Complexity in shields outside combat could involve things such as alarms which activate when certain intents or mental signatures are detected. Or allow signals from such and such a person, if they're wearing a green hat, and it's a tuesday.

A shield I quite like, is a shield that fits itself to an area that I currently conceptualize as "my work area" if I've stopped travelling for ten seconds. The shield returns to normal after I start travelling again. It allows input directed at me, and input I want.
This is a good example of why complexity can leave room for error. What if the area that I consider my "work space" is very large? The shield will stretch out, be incredibly thin, and probably not do anything useful. Beyond that, its programming could possibly be damaged to some extent, and perhaps even break entirely. You'd need to program it to take energy in proportion to the size it grows to, not to stretch itself, rather "grow" and to limit the area it can encompas.

That particular shield works very well, actually. But it takes thought to cover any possible repercussions. I'd never rely on it as a primary shield though, simply because of the average complexity.

In summation, use common sense. Figure out when complexity is needed, and stick to simple programs whenever you can.

The more complicated the construct, the easier to muss parts of it up. However, sometimes more complex than "keep everything out" is needed.
What are you wanting to gain with the increased complexity? Is there something you are wanting to have done that the other shields aren't doing? I have seen some rather wild ideas as far as complex shields go. The usefulness of said shields is at times... questionable.
One of the complex shields I have heard of is actually more of a window-type addition to an existing shield. If someone likes to build a connection with you that you don't want, yet you have to deal with that person at times, having a 'faucet' on your shield to that person would allow you to lessen the amount of input from them and lessen the drain from you while having to deal with them.
