Jael, you poked me on IRC, so this is my answer.

This works wonderfully. It is lighter, the main parts aren't white, and it's easy to see and read on all three computers that I use on a daily basis. Thank you thank you thank you!

I'm glad the change works well for you. I know if I find something difficult to read, I'm likely to just move on. I'd like to have folks stick around and have discussions. After looking at it again tonight, I made some additional minor changes.
